News /Ustica hosts MedArtNet

On December 7, the island fishermen will host the Spanish Association MedArtNet (medartnet.org), which puts together European small scale fishermen. The Association represents Italian, Spanish, Croatian, Greek and French fishermen at the European Community and it has been involved in the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (which regulates all fisheries in EU countries). Fishermen from Ustica are the first to approach the Association to obtain information on the new European policy for fisheries and are looking to create collaborations with other European fishermen.
